Lore & Background

Isshiki and Kaguya originally came to Earth with the intent of planting a God Tree, but their partnership fractured when Kaguya betrayed him. Isshiki was stabbed and left for dead; unlike typical Ōtsutsuki protocol where the survivor becomes a seed, he survived by imprinting his Karma onto Jigen. He viewed humans merely as livestock for chakra cultivation. His abilities included advanced space-time ninjutsu: specifically, Sukunahiko allowed him to shrink objects and people, while Daikokuten enabled him to store items in a dimension and retrieve them instantly. These divine techniques, later termed shinjutsu by Amado, were described as more powerful than standard ninjutsu.

In Their Own Story

Isshiki eventually attempted to find Kawaki, whose body had become the next suitable vessel. Naruto Uzumaki confronted him head-on despite the threat. Due to his limited lifespan, which was a result of using Jigen as a host for so long, Isshiki died during this confrontation. Before his death, Momoshiki Ōtsutsuki used the chaos to attempt possessing Boruto's body to kill Naruto and others, but Sasuke and Kawaki intervened until Boruto regained control. Following Isshiki's demise, he requested Code, the guardian of the Ten-Tails, to carry on the Ōtsutsuki will. Code subsequently released Eida and Daemon, two powerful cyborgs created by Amado from Shibai Ōtsutsuki's remains, to continue the pursuit of Kawaki.
