Code

The loyal guardian who carries on the will of Isshiki.

Code is a guardian of the Ten-Tails and a former member of Kara who operates with singular focus on fulfilling the will of Isshiki Ōtsutsuki. Created as an Inner of Kara alongside Jigen, he holds a unique status that grants him authority over other members. His defining trait is his unwavering loyalty to the Ōtsutsuki legacy, which drives him to execute missions even after his master's demise. Unlike many antagonists motivated by personal gain or chaos, Code acts out of a twisted sense of duty to preserve the divine lineage he serves. These tools, combined with his Karma seal, make him a formidable threat capable of challenging elite ninja forces. Code's presence in the series marks a shift toward more god-like conflicts involving Ōtsutsuki resurrection and the manipulation of reality itself.

Lore & Background

His loyalty to Jigen was absolute until Isshiki Ōtsutsuki possessed Jigen's body millennia after Kaguya betrayed them on Earth. When Isshiki died during a confrontation with Naruto Uzumaki, he requested Code to carry on the Ōtsutsuki will, entrusting him with critical tasks regarding the Ten-Tails and potential vessels. These markers allow him to control allies remotely or trigger explosive energy releases within their bodies. Additionally, Code possesses a Karma seal, granting him Ōtsutsuki traits and the potential for resurrection through host bodies. This combination of technological enhancement and divine bloodline makes him one of the few characters capable of challenging Kage-level opponents with ease. Following Isshiki's death, Code refused to accept Kawaki as his successor, viewing him as a usurper who stole the intended vessel status. This betrayal fueled a vendetta that drives much of the conflict in later storylines. He released Eida and Daemon, two powerful cyborgs created by Amado, believing their abilities would help eliminate threats like Naruto and Boruto while protecting Kawaki for Eida's romantic interests.

In Their Own Story

Boruto arrives to fight them off, but Kawaki intervenes, attacking Boruto and helping Code escape before he can obtain information about the Ten-Tails. This confrontation reveals Code's determination to pursue his mission regardless of personal risks or alliances. Boruto pursues Code to another dimension where he encounters both Code and four Shinju clones guarding a tree in which Sasuke is trapped. The battle escalates as Boruto gains support from Koji Kashin, who has become his new mentor while maintaining surveillance on the Ten-Tails situation. Meanwhile, Himawari steps forward to oppose two Shinju clones named Jura and Hidari, demonstrating her belief in Boruto's innocence despite the rewritten memories. Throughout these events, Code remains a persistent threat operating from the shadows of the Ōtsutsuki legacy. His actions force allies like Sarada and Shikamaru to work secretly while preparing to expose Kawaki's crimes. The conflict highlights how Code's unwavering loyalty drives him to sacrifice everything for his masters' unfinished business, making him one of the most dangerous adversaries in the Boruto era.

Reader's Guide

Code operates as a rogue ninja aligned with Kara before forging his own path under Isshiki Ōtsutsuki's will. His personality is defined by cold efficiency and an obsessive desire to honor his masters' commands, often displaying terrifying calmness during combat. He views anyone betraying the Ōtsutsuki cause as an enemy that must be eliminated, including former allies like Kawaki. These markers allow him to manipulate others remotely or trigger explosions within their bodies, giving him battlefield advantages even when outnumbered. His combat style blends speed with lethal precision, often overwhelming opponents before they can react. Key relationships include his reverence for Jigen, which fuels his vendetta against those who killed the leader. He clashes frequently with Boruto Uzumaki and Kawaki, viewing them as obstacles to his mission. Signature abilities involve his Karma mark, granting him Ōtsutsuki traits, alongside unique clone manipulation techniques that make him a persistent threat even when seemingly defeated.
