Historically, the power was so immense that it could blind its user if not controlled perfectly, as seen in the tragic case of Itachi Uchiha. The risk of blindness stems from the overuse of the Mangekyō Sharingan itself; however, this condition is permanently cured only by awakening the Eternal Mangekyō Sharingan (EMS) through transplanting a sibling's eyes, which stabilizes vision and grants infinite chakra reserves. Notably, while Indra Otsutsuki possessed the Mangekyō Sharingan, there is no canonical evidence of him ever manifesting or using a Susanoo. In later eras, Sasuke Uchiha demonstrated a unique ability to manifest the Susanoo while wielding Six Paths Power and utilizing his Rinnegan, combining these god-like abilities to create an unstoppable force.

The Susanoo functions as an external projection of chakra that surrounds the user's body. To activate it, a ninja must possess the Mangekyō Sharingan in both eyes, allowing them to synchronize their visual prowess with their spiritual energy. Initially, the avatar appears as a skeletal frame, offering basic protection and reach but lacking offensive weight. As the user focuses more chakra and refines their control, the skeleton gains layers of armor, weapons, and eventually flesh, becoming the 'Perfect Susanoo.' This final form is incredibly durable and can wield legendary tools like spears or swords made of pure energy. Only a select few in history have mastered this technique. While Itachi Uchiha could summon it with immense power despite his frail body, Sasuke Uchiha refined it to become a central part of his combat style, capable of flight and firing massive chakra arrows.

• The Susanoo is one of the few abilities that can physically manifest even after the user has lost their sight, provided they had unlocked the Mangekyō in both eyes beforehand.
